Poised and ready for action, this four-strong paramedic bike team in Ottawa, is one of many deployed across Canada as part of a rapid response for dealing with incidents and casualties throughout the capital. The team is adept at cutting through traffic congestion in a bid to help save life and limb in emergency situations, and other less serious incidents.
Reaching the scene by pedal power would also appear a greener and cleaner alternative than using four wheels. And, judging by the thickness of the tyres, the bikes also appear to be no strangers to tackling off-road emergencies too.
By the way, in Canada, this week, May 25-31, is Paramedic Services Week. The theme for this year is “Our Family Caring for You!”
